Culinary Arts
“I’ve found all of my chef instructors extremely helpful.”
Why Edmonds CC? The Culinary Arts program here has helped open my eyes to new techniques, diverse cultural backgrounds, and great people who I will work with in the future.
Why now? I felt like it was time to establish a base for myself as a cook. I wanted to have this not only for my resume, but also for the skills you don't always get through working out in the industry.
Biggest challenge Trying to maintain a social life with a 20 credit schedule and 40+ hours of work each week. Dealing with aching knees and a bad back, burns, cuts and the occasional night of no sleep. Loving every minute of it.

Dream job My goal as a cook is to open a restaurant someday. A place on the West Coast where we only serve local fresh seafood and produce. Where we attract a variety of guests and hungry travelers. A place that feels like home and smells like fresh roasted garlic, herbs, and spices. Somewhere a guest can have a relaxing meal and also enjoy the atmosphere: the sound of a sizzling saute pan, the view of the ocean, and the friendly service.
